Among the ways to get traffic to your affiliate program buying page, search engines are a great tool. Not only it might help you generate tons of visitors, but it could be 100% free targeted traffic. On the long term, using search engines is the best solution.
Having the best affiliate program is absolutely not enough to succeed and everybody knows it. If you do a search on your affiliate program, you will notice, what ever the affiliate is, that you have the word ''review'' among the first ten results.
If you also take a look at the website domain names, you will regularly see the name of your affiliate like myaffiliateprogram.net,.info,.org, etc. You will notice that these are usually blogs trying to give you a review of the same affiliate program as you want to advertise.
This happens for a good reason, the master keyword is in the domain name, in the title, in the meta description and in the first sentence or paragraph. The question is how long it took to these guys to rank in the top ten?
In some cases, the fastest ones, it took only a few weeks, 3, 4 weeks only. That is real fast. I've seen exceptions that scored within 2 weeks, but these are exceptions.
To be able to do it yourself, first determine if you will use a blog or a website. If you use a blog, you must have the affiliate name as your domain name and you can add ''review'' in it to get the.com domain name (like myaffiliatechoicereview.com).
Search engines love blogs, but you have to give your blog a small kick to help it be indexed by SE. First, in your blog admin area, in the general setting, you must repeat your domain name in the description box. Do not forget to add plug ins like 'SEO Ultimate' which include the XML Sitemap plug in.
Second, the title of your post must be something like: My Affiliate Choice Review. And in the first paragraph of your post, add, in bold, your the description you used in the general settings. The post must be relevant, SE will rank you high if your post answer a question or give a solution to a problem.
Before selecting your domain name, there is something you should do. Go to the Google Adwords external tool and type in your desired name. See how many searches are made each month for your keyword.
If it has between 4,000 and 15,000 searches a month, it is good. Over that competition is stronger. With a keyword that generate 200,000 searches, it will be harder, a lot harder to place your site or blog in position #1 or in the top ten.
Less searches means less competition. It also means something else: a more specific keyword means that the searcher is looking for something he needs and is ready to buy. Trying to get #1 with the word ''money'' is almost impossible. In the contrary with ''home internet make money online'' you could rank in the top ten in just a few weeks and start receiving around 8,000 visitors, targeted visitors to your website or blog every month.
If you have a website, it is a little bit different, you need to create another page, you put a link on your main page to access it. If your site is already indexed by search engines, your new page will be indexed automatically.
Your new page should be called something like: myownsite.com/my-affiliate-choice-review.html, this way, SE will index it and place it in the right category. Do not forget to to use ''my affiliate choice review'' as your page title, meta keyword, meta description and insert it in your first paragraph of your page.
Just like a post, add relevant content and make sure you are answering a question or resolving a problem. Do not forget to put a link back to your main page. Even if SE prefer blogs, a good website can rank in the top ten as equal as blogs can.
Most people believe that Dot Com rank better, but this is untrue. Check the top ten and you will see more Info, Net, Org or US and WS. SE algorithms do not care about this situation. Anyway, there is not enough 'dot com' for all the billions of web site or blogs.
