There are many different ways to drive traffic to your website. Looking at the whole of it, you can generate traffic for free or pay for it. But still, no matter how many traffic generation strategies are created, search engine traffic still retains the most coveted number one position.
If you know what you're doing, taking the initial steps toward optimizing your sites for search traffic can be the beginning of a business transformation. So now we'll continue to discuss a couple of items related to search engine optimization, and you can have some idea as you begin to learn more.
Be sure to take care you use the most advantageous anchor text for your linking. If you're really new, that's ok, anchor text is what is used as the 'text' that makes up your links. It's important, for your backlinking, that you use relevant anchor text to all your pages especially the primary keyword phrase for your site - but only for the relevant page. Ok, let's say... just as an example, you have a site that is optimized for "electric dogs," so when you're getting backlinks you want those links to have anchor text: electric dogs. Always avoid anchor text such as, Click Here, because when the mindless search engine bot sees that, it will think you're optimized for, "Click Here." Then, when they do visit your site and discover what it's all about - it won't be about 'Click Here," and you'll get slapped with penalty points. So in order to avoid this, always have relevant keywords in your anchor text, no matter what.
Another trick to use sparingly is to put some keywords in bolding or you into italics, but avoid doing this on every page, etc. That is just something that will help you, everything contributes something, and it's not used on a lot of websites, either. It seems search engines will add a little more SEO weight to these words. Never do too much with SEO, like overdoing it, because that is always viewed as something that is not good. Perhaps several to three times should be good enough to provide some help. Also include primary and secondary keywords/phrases in your H1/H2 tags. If you do that, too, then they'll score higher with the search engines in terms of ranking value, etc. what you'll also be doing is optimzing each page for its own primary keyword/phrase plus some additional secondary keywords.
Effective SEO is all about using keyword properly on your site. By proper keyword placement, you'd be able to rank better for them. If you can, choose a domain name for the overall site primary keyword phrase, then in your site use the appropriate keywords in your link anchor text and even in your ALT tags for any images you may use. You'll get higher rankings if you implement those factors, but of course that's not all there is to it. There are so many advantages to organic search traffic, and it's really worth your time to seriously consider this approach.
