These are just my thoughts on SEO and how it can be useful for individuals and businesses.
Search Engine Optimization (SEO) is used universally and by everybody. Whether you're an individual submitting an article to a web marketing site, or a business looking for ways to market its products and services, the internet allows you to do such things with the help of SEO. Search engine optimization will ultimately use tags for every word you think necessary people will use to look up certain websites and articles; perhaps yours. It's important nowadays to keep up with SEO because the internet is used on the daily.
If you think about it, how do people get around online searching a certain topic? A search engine of course! Yahoo! Google, Ask.com, Bing and such sites are being used for billions of websites - and being submitted with concise content, creative ideas and tagging the correct words. Think about how many searches are made every second, minute, hour and day... According to Search Engine Land, Google has "34,000 searches per second (2 million per minute; 121 million per hour; 3 billion per day; 88 billion per month, figures rounded)" It's a big number and that's a lot of SEO going around the internet that people use daily so businesses are competitive in terms of using the right tactics for SEO.
The social media aspect of the internet is growing exceedingly fast. With a fast-paced environment, people are most apt to be competitive with getting their websites on top of Google's list. Businesses are using social media networks to connect with other users to create a market and catch a target audience. Google probably doesn't need one as it is one of the biggest search engines, but it doesn't stop there; they have a Facebook Page to connect and follow millions of internet users and other Facebook users. They also have a Twitter page which has over 2 million followers. With these social media networks in mind and how they play a role in maintaining a business, keeping loyal customers, promoting brands and products, using SEO in these mediums will help drastically to improve and work on the business.
