Here are a few SEO Tips and Tricks.

Let's be honest...we all long to be on the front page of a Google search. I have been able to get on the front page of Google, Yahoo and Bing for my keywords on extra than one of my websites.

There are several different SEO tips and tricks I have done toaccomplish that. If I can do this...you can too. Are you needing to rank higher in the search engines and gain extra traffic for your website?

Here are a few SEO tips and tricks that haveaided me. I will get into article marketing and the import of back links in another post.

SEO Tips and Tricks - Keyword Optimization:

Optimizing your keywords is a priceless part of the search engines finding you and believing your content is pertinent and valuable to their readers. Once you have selected your keywords (I optimize one keyword or phrase per post) you should take the following steps:

1. Keyword should be in your title. 2. Keyword should be in your first paragraph and your last paragraph.3. Your keyword should be in a Heading 1. (You only need one Heading 1 per post) 4. Your keyword should also be in a Heading 2 and a Heading 3 per post. 5. Your keyword should be bolded at least once. 6. Your keyword should be in italics at least once.7. Your keyword should be underlinedat least once.8. Your keyword should be turned into a link at least once (Must link back to another post or page in your site)

Of course, when you are optimizing your key words...you must choose the best keywords to go after. The common keywords may already be so oversaturated that you will have trouble getting on page 1....you wish to be on page 1!

If you go after a keyword phrase of 2-3 words, rather than one popular word, you may be able to rank higher with it since there is less competition. Google adwords has a free program to help with analyzing your keywords and viewing the traffic generated by them.

SEO Tips and Tricks - Permalinks:

This is a basic trick to do that makes a Big Difference in how the search engines see you.

Go into the settings on your blog and reset the permalink setting to "post name". (The post name is how you are listed on the search engines) When you do a google search....the permalink is the bolded title you see for each website.

Let me explain: Here is the way the default permalink looks: (/?p=123) All that does is add a number to the end...that doesn't help you at all.

When you change the permalink setting to "post name" it will add the title of your post onto the end vs just an odd number: (/your-post-title/)

Additional SEO Tips and Tricks to get your website ranked higher.

Put photos in your post. Make sure one of the photos is linked back to a page or post in your website. Search engines love this.

Don't feel like you have to optimize every single post. Sometimes you are just posting for fun. Blogging should be enjoyable!

There are other things that can be done to increase your page rank...some of those include Article Marketing. Writing and submitting articles to be published with a couple of backlinks to your website in the Resource section in the footer is invaluable. The more quality links you can point back to your site the better your site looks to the search engine bots.
