The SEO techniques that you'll learn have three steps. The steps are social bookmarking, writing articles and hand picking high PR ranking sites.
Set up your blog and post some articles on your new website. Now you'll go to the social bookmarking websites and bookmark all the articles you just made. Now obtain the RSS feed and submit the feed to directories and aggregators.
After going through this process, the front page of your website should have about 10 to 15 links. Now check one of the keywords you are trying to target in about a week and you should be on page 2 or 1 of the search engines. Now that you have your new blog up and running, just bookmarking through different social bookmarking website isn't enough over the long term of your site. You won't rank #1 with your keyword either.
Step two is the getting back links going to your website. The PR value will be low but you should still do the things outlined in step 2. Write articles and submit them to different article directories. The find some blogging networks and get some links going back to your website using the signature function when you sign up. They do have things out there to automate the task.
When you submit your articles to the article directories, you should be obtaining a few hundred links that will lead back to your website.
Some of the article directories will allow you to put a link in the article. I'll link from one back to my main website and the other one I will link to a page on my Web 2.0 properties.
When you get links this way you want at least half of the links going back to your main website. Keep up your article writing on a consistent basis and submit them to the directories and blog networks.
They do make software that you can buy that will watch to see where your keywords are ranking in the search engines. Now you should have about a few hundred links that go back to your blog. The PR ranking will be between 1 and 2. I never had PR rankings to go higher than 2.
Now we will move on to step 3. What you will do in this part is to search and find websites with a high PR link value and get them to link back to your blog. In this step you're going to have to probably pay for your links or offer something in exchange for the link to appear on their website. Don't sweat it if you have to pay for it for the link coming back is well worth it.
That's it with these SEO techniques. When you bookmark your articles, take the time to set up good wording. When you publish your articles on the different directories come up with something compelling.
